I've now moved the 7800GD design over to using a Trion FPGA and have just ordered a prototype PCB. Definitely time to take a week off while that wings its way to me! 😄

I still can’t fathom how an image like this gets turned into logic. It really is the best kind of witchcraft! Absolutely amazing work and it just keeps coming. 😮

Wow, cool, I’d never thought of using a metal brush for a quick larger area continuity check. That’s genius!
this is how I'm reverse engineering it. pick a pin, then use the brush to figure out what it is wired to.

7800GD feature reveal! I now have the ability to break into and return to running games. This will lead on to things like save states and game genie style cheats.

That's now all the original commercial games running on the 7800GD on NTSC, including built-in POKEY support! I am aiming for dual POKEY and YM2151 support for final release.
